How It Works

How NullBox Protects Your Files

Simple version: your files are encrypted first, then uploaded.

Technical Security DetailsBack to Landing

1. Create your key on your device

Your passphrase is processed on your device first. Your raw passphrase is not sent to our servers.

2. Encrypt before upload

Your files are encrypted before they leave your browser so storage only sees encrypted data.

3. Store safely in the cloud

Encrypted boxes are uploaded using temporary secure links with limited lifetime.

4. Open with your passphrase

When you open a box, your device recreates the key and decrypts the file locally.

Extra protection when available

When this feature is available, NullBox adds another layer of protection on top of standard encryption.
